September 4, 2026
Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year! We are filled with optimism and excitement for the months ahead as we officially launch into another great year of learning and connection.
We had an incredible kick-off to the year last Friday. It was fantastic to see our students connecting during our Grade Level Assemblies, enjoying the food trucks during the lunch hour, and showing tremendous school spirit at the after-school football game.
During our assemblies, we reviewed several essential topics for the year. Administration spoke to students about the importance of good attendance, arriving to class on time, and our late policy. Regular attendance is vital to academic success. Students are expected to take ownership of their learning by making it a priority to be present and engaged every single day. We ask parents to actively support this by establishing consistent morning routines and reinforcing the value of daily attendance. When an absence is unavoidable, it is imperative that parents diligently use the Safe Arrival app to report excused student absences. Our presentations also covered expectations for spares, leaving-class rules, our missed-assessment policy, and locked-building security protocols. Additionally, we reviewed the hallway no-stopping zone, scooters, and strict policies against vaping and other prohibited substances.
Please take note of our personal electronic device policy, which is firmly grounded in the Alberta government's Standards for the Use of Personal Mobile Devices and Social Media in Schools. As social media continues to heavily promote wearable technology such as Meta Glasses, please be aware that these devices are not permitted for student use at our school.
