A message from Mr. Flanagan
Hello ÉSBCHS Families!
It’s wonderful to see students and staff re-engaging in the classroom. We are pleased to share that our teachers are back, and the school is once again filled with energy and learning. All classes are in full swing.
Additional Learning Days
To help recover lost learning time, the Board has approved changing two upcoming Professional Learning Days into Instructional Days.
The following dates are now regular school days for students:
- Monday, November 3 (This will be a DAY 2)
- Monday, December 1 (This will be a DAY 1)
This adjustment allows students to regain valuable classroom time without extending the school year. We understand that calendar changes can be challenging for families, and we appreciate your flexibility as we make every effort to support students’ learning continuity.
Important Updates
- Awards Night - To ensure all students can be recognized, we will be integrating our fall awards presentations into the school day this year. As such, the annual Fall Awards Night will be cancelled.
- Halloween - students have the opportunity to participate in a Halloween costume contest tomorrow at lunch for the chance to win a prize. If your child wishes to participate, please remind them:
- Costumes must not include weapons or realistic weapon props.
- School dress code still applies.
- If a staff member asks you to remove a mask or a distracting costume piece, please do so respectfully.
- Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held on November 19 & 20. The school will be sharing the online signup for parents to schedule conferences with their child’s teacher(s) early next week.
- Update on School Musical: Matilda - Please note that the performance dates for our school musical, "Matilda”, are being rescheduled and will no longer take place during the November Midterm Break. We are currently working to finalize new dates. As soon as these have been approved, we will share the updated schedule with all our families. Thank you for your understanding.
- 2024/2025 Yearbooks including grade 9 yearbooks from JE Lapointe are available for pickup in the office. We will be selling extra 2024/2025 yearbooks on Tuesday, November 4th at 8:00 am. First come, first served.
- Our Commitment: Our amazing teachers are fully committed to providing the outstanding education you've come to expect from ÉSBCHS. This week they are reconnecting with their students and working hard to ensure every student feels supported and ready for success!
