The Wilderness and Outdoor Recreation program is designed to help students develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to engage safely and responsibly in wilderness and outdoor environments. Through experiential learning and hands-on activities, students will build practical competencies while strengthening their confidence, resilience, and decision-making abilities.

Throughout the course, students will participate in a variety of adventure and recreational experiences that foster critical thinking, problem-solving, risk assessment, self-discipline, and personal responsibility. These experiences are intended to deepen students’ connection to the land and enhance their appreciation for the natural world.

Students will develop foundational skills and understanding in areas such as wildlife awareness, fishing, survival skills, boating safety, cultural perspectives and relationships, wilderness protection and stewardship, and hunting and game management. Emphasis is placed on ethical practices, environmental responsibility, and safe participation in outdoor activities.
