French Language Arts 10-1, 20-1/20-2, 30-1/30-2

Immersion level French Language Arts is a requirement for all students enrolled in the French immersion program at ESBCHS. This course sequence stresses listening, speaking, reading and writing on an equal basis.

FLA 30-1 is a diploma course where students will write a government exam for 30% of their mark. Students will be have the opportunity to challenge French as a Second Language (FSL) at all grade levels.

FLA 20-2 and FLA 30-2 will only run if enough students request the class. FLA 30-2 follows the same curriculum as FLA 30-1 but without the stress of writing a diploma exam at the end of the course. Both 30-1 and 30-2 are recognized by Campus Saint Jean.

Please Note: Only 25 credits from any combination of languages may be used towards a high school diploma. This means that if a student takes FLA 10, 20 & 30 and challenges French 10, 20 & 30, or if they enroll in French 10, 20 & 30 and Spanish 10, 20 & 30 they will earn 30 credits, of which only 25 will count towards the 100 credit requirement for a high school diploma.

Math 10C, Math 20-1, Math 30-1 and Science 10 run every year. All other core courses are offered in French however those classes will only run if there are adequate numbers of students requesting the course.
